Holding the world record and current number 1 in the 400m hurdles. She won the gold medal at the 2019 World Championships, setting the current world record with a time of 52.16 seconds. Growing up not the fastest in her running club, she became obsessed with wanting to know the answer to why the other people in her team were faster than her. Motivation came easy to her because of her sheer desire to learn more and to achieve. If you’re not someone looking to compete in competitions then why not focus on just bettering yourself, learning more and beating yourself. One of the most incredible things about running is that you can push yourself in so many ways. Faster or further but also… if you’ve got a spring your step too? Hurdles could be yours just like Dalilah!
Running domination at it’s finest. Ethiopian-born, dutch runner Sifan holds a world record in the 1 Mile race and currently dominates in the 1500m, 5k and 10k too. She holds 2nd in the world for her 5k time of 14:44. We aren’t saying you should go attempt to beat this, unless you want too of course, but with 60% of 5k runners being female there is plenty of opportunities for you to give it a go through joining the couch to 5k or a parkrun. Even better, running while doing something for charity like the Cancer Research run is a great one to do with family and friends.
